Dear Students,
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, a confederation of Trade Associations, Regional and Sectoral Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Bilateral Business Councils, and Employer Organizations in Sri Lanka will organize the second edition of the Sri Lanka Climate Summit on 9 June 2026, under the theme “From Risk to Opportunity: Mainstreaming Climate Action into Sri Lanka’s Growth Story.”
Further details are available at: https://event.chamber.lk/Details/Event/453
In this regard, we are pleased to invite your university to share with undergraduate students the Youth Climate Challenge 2026: Sri Lanka NextGen Solutions, a national, policy‑focused competition being conducted in the lead‑up to this year’s Summit. The competition invites university students to submit an essay‑style Climate Policy Concept Paper, proposing practical, innovative, and policy‑oriented solutions to climate‑related challenges relevant to the Sri Lankan context. Winners will gain the opportunity to be recognized and to network with industry experts at the Summit.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could circulate the attached competition flyer and detailed guidelines among your students and relevant faculties.
Entries should be submitted to eiu@chamber.lk with the subject line “YOUTH CLIMATE CHALLENGE 2026: CLIMATE SUMMIT” on or before 15 May 2026.
We look forward to your support in encouraging student participation in this important initiative.
