Course aim:
The aim of the course is to foster an understanding on the agronomy and processing of tea and rubber.

Tea and Rubber: Overview; Climate, soil and their influence on yield; Cultivar recommendations; Nursery management as a commercial venture; Land preparation, crop establishment and crop management for sustainability; Harvesting for yield optimization, Processing and value addition; Institutional support.

On successful completion of the course, the student shall be able to
1. explain the significance of the tea and rubber sectors in Sri Lankan economy.
2. demonstrate the agronomic practices of tea and rubber.
3. describe the harvesting practices of tea and rubber for yield optimization.
4. appraise processing and value addition in tea and rubber.
